Two day Free Machine Embroidery Workshops

In my two-day workshops, I will provide full tuition for up to 15 students in a group. These are a busy but fun few days for all involved.

Once booked I will provide a full requirements list. I can also provide a kit including my hand painted fabrics ( at an additional cost) or students can bring their own fabrics..
Each student will need to provide their own sewing machine, with the facility to do free machine embroidery, as well as traditional straight stitch.
They will also need to provide a variety of machine threads  – for more information, please see full details for each workshop below.

Cost for the 2 days – £315 plus travel @ 45p per mile (I am based in Andover, Hampshire)

JAPANESE KNOT BAG – NEW WORKSHOP FOR 2025

This versatile bag can be a handy project bag for your embroidery / knotting / or crochet, with an attached zipped pouch for scissors, stitch markers etc etc. Or it could be evening bag for your phone, lipstick and other essentials!! Again with an attached matching purse for you bank card and keys.

I will provide a full requirements list. I can also provide a kit (excluding machine threads) for an additional cost of £20.00 per student. Alternatively, students can bring their own fabrics.

Although I use a mixture of my own hand painted fabric together with commercially produced fabrics , students are welcome to use all commercially produced fabrics if they prefer.

Additional information:
This workshop requires students to bring their own sewing machine and manual. Together with an embroidery foot, zip foot (if you wish to make the purse) normal straight stitch foot and machine threads. A minimum of a red, pink, grey and black thread. However, please feel free to bring along any other colours you might like to use.

“SET THE TOWN ALIGHT ” NIGHTLIGHT

I also teach this as a one day course, but given 2 days you can really let your creativity loose. Adding lots of detail to make your street scene extra special.

The most popular of my workshops to date – you will create a beautiful 3D wrap suitable for use with LED string lights or a battery operated tea- light candle.  

You can choose from either the winter townscape or snowy townscape designs (see image below).

I will provide a full requirements list. I can also provide a kit (excluding machine threads) for an additional cost of £12.50 per student. Or, alternatively, students can bring their own fabrics. Although I use my own hand painted fabric, students are welcome to use commercially produced fabrics if they prefer.

Additional information:
This workshop requires students to bring their own sewing machine and manual. Together with an embroidery foot, normal straight stitch foot and machine threads. A minimum of a black or a grey thread, or a grey or a white thread for the snowy scene.However, you will be choosing your own colour scheme so please feel free to bring along any other colours you might like to use.

HALLOWE’EN HAUNTED HOUSE

Moving on from the nightlights I also have a bigger project “Halllowe’en Haunted House” it can be displayed at anytime of year but is especially relevant for the spooky 31st October

FANTASY TREE HOUSE
In this workshop, students will create a magical 3D treehouse, suitable for use with LED string lights or a battery operated candle.
PLEASE NOTE: This is not a toy! The materials used in the construction of this piece makes it unsuitable for young children.

I will provide a full requirements list. I can also provide a kit (excluding machine threads) for an additional cost of £15.00 per student. Or, alternatively, students can bring their own fabrics. Although I use my own hand painted fabric, students are welcome to use commercially produced fabrics if they prefer.

DAISY CRAZY!!

This workshop is inspired by my love of “weeds” – Ox eye daisies and cow parsley grow in the hedgerows, on grass verges and poor quality ground – full of life and a real slice of summer flowers.

The finished panel can be made into a picture, wall hanging, cushion or lampshade the choice is yours. The images show 2 versions of the design – one with my painted fabric as a background, the second one with a dark blue denim background and a more simplified daisy to give a more contemporary feel.

In the workshop you will learn how to adapt the basic design to create the panel to suit your chosen project.

I will provide a full requirements list. I can also provide a kit (excluding machine threads) for an additional cost of £15.00 per student. Alternatively, students can bring their own fabrics. If you wish to make the piece into a lampshade I can provide the 25cm drum lampshade kit for an additional £12 but will need to order these 2 weeks before the date of the workshop.

BAMBOO INSPIRED WALL HANGING, PICTURE OR CUSHION COVER

This design is created using Trapunto or Italian qulting. If you choose to use as a small cushion it can be finished with an envelope closure with added “hosta” details, The outer edge is finished with bias binding. Finished size approximately 20cms square.

The design can be stitched in whatever colour scheme you wish, to fit in with your home surroundings. The design is very versatile, – make 4 and make a larger cushion, or 6 and turn into a table runner. The single panel could also be backed and made into a wall hanging or mounted and framed as a picture.

I will provide a full requirements list. I can also provide a kit for the single cushion cover (excluding machine threads) for an additional cost of £10.00 per student. Or, alternatively, students can bring their own fabrics and trapunto wool.

Although I use my own hand painted fabric students are welcome to use commercially produced fabrics if they prefer.
